Nissan Leafs manufactured in Japan for use in Japan are known as JDM models. These vehicles are commonly exported used, and sold in many markets around the world.[1]

Key characteristics

  • They are Right-Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles
  • They have mostly Japanese writing on the buttons, and Japanese language for the AV Control Unit, Around View Monitor Control Unit and Combination Meter.
  • They typically come with a factory-installed toll device which is not usable in other markets
  • They come with an EVSE designed for Japan's 100V power supply, which is not suitable for other countries which use 120V or 240V.
