Changing the language
For the Gen 1 Leaf, the language can be changed either by reflashing the firmware, or changing a value in the EEPROM. The latter can be done by LeafSpy Pro.
For the Gen 2 Leaf, it is less simple and may require flashing the whole firmware.[1] EVs Enhanced in New Zealand can change the language via a process which involves removing the Combination Meter from the vehicle.[2]
